Cheney was the first to accept the Republican Vice-Presidential nomination in 2007, stated that his hopes were high for serving under a president that can work across political lines and collaborate with rival political parties through goodwill and a shared purpose. Richard Bruce Cheney, son of Richard Herbert Cheney & Marjorie Lauraine Dickey was born on January 30, 1941 in Lincoln Nebraska. After 13 years of age, old, he emigrated together with family members from Nebraska to Casper in the western region of Wyoming and his father ran the local soil conservation district in the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
